Born in Chicago and raised in Southern California, Cristina Chavez is a graduate of California State University, San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art — Graphic Design concentration.
Since graduating in 1996, she has been a working Graphic Designer, gaining over 25 years of experience in various industries — including Marketing and Graphic Design for the Public Sector (Los Angeles County), B2B Magazine Publishing, eMedia Marketing, Catalog Design, Cosmetics Packaging, and Graphic Design Instruction. Aside from art and design, she also has experience writing and copy editing.
In 2020 — in the midst of a pandemic — Cristina made some major life changes. She got married, moved from Southern California to the Bay Area with her new husband, and she took a huge leap of faith — making the decision to leave the stability of a design position in the corporate world, to embrace her inner Fine Artist.
Her current focus is on building a strong surface pattern design catalog. And, through the creative collective, DESIGN GIRL MAGIC, she is involved in various public art projects throughout the Bay Area. Her personal goal is to develop a unique and recognizable style in the world of public art.
